Saul Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation at work on Maryland Dream Act

I had no clue that the far Left Industrial Areas Foundation had a Maryland chapter, did you?  I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

The IAF was first organized in 1940 by the chief radical of the day—Saul Alinsky—and is about as far Left as you can get before falling off into Marxism.   The IAF masquerades as a “religious” organization but is one more in a growing list of “social justice” lobbying outfits that seem to be everywhere these days.

ANNAPOLIS — Religious leaders gathered outside the House of Delegates today to thank delegates who have agreed to vote for a bill that could give in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants.

Bishop Douglas Miles, of the Koinonia Baptist Church in northeast Baltimore, said the church leaders were advocating for the Dream Act in opposition to national advocates who, he says, are pushing delegates to vote against the measure.

Members of the Maryland chapter of the Industrial Areas Foundation — a religious-based group focused on social change — say national groups are attempting to impact the debate in Maryland.

According to Discover the Networks, the Industrial Areas Foundation wants to bring about “revolutionary social change “(we know what that is code for, right!).   Saul Alinsky, who dedicated his book ‘Rules for Radicals’ to Lucifer* and was an avowed atheist, knew that to get to the people you had to get to them through their churches.

IAF’s mission is to “build organizations whose primary purpose is power — the ability to act — and whose chief product is social change.” Toward that end, an IAF training institute — which Saul Alinsky himself launched in 1969 as a “school for professional radicals” — trains community organizers in the tactics of revolutionary social change that its founder outlined.

IAF strives most aggressively to bring religious institutions into its fold, on the theory that church affiliations will help inject the network not only with access to large amounts of cash, but also with perceived moral credibility.

With unemployment so high among young American blacks, it’s so sad to see these black pastors being hoodwinked by the hard Left and condoning illegal immigration.

A story for another day is how the Industrial Areas Foundation, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the Gamaliel Foundation have undermined the Catholic Church in America.

* I’ve heard that in newer copies of ‘Rules for Radicals’ (required reading for teachers, btw) the dedication to Lucifer has been removed.

Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins—or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom—Lucifer.
