On March 30th, the Maryland House of Delegates will be taking up the Senate-passed bill, SB 167, that would allow illegal immigrants in Maryland to attend Maryland colleges and pay in-state tuition fees.
The statewide grassroots group, Help Save Maryland, will be leading the taxpayers’ campaign to kill the bill and will be testifying before the House Ways and Means Committee this week.
The group’s leader, Brad Botwin, began an action alert to Maryland citizens this way:
THE HOUSE IS GOING TO DEBATE THE SENATE BILL SB 167 WHICH WAS AMENDED AND THEN PASSED BY THE MARYLAND SENATE EARLIER THIS MONTH. WHILE THE SUPPORTERS SAY THE BILL IS TOUGHER ON THE ILLEGAL ALIEN STUDENTS IN TERMS OF QUALIFYING FOR IN-STATE BY PROVING TAXES PAID AND A TWO-YEAR REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND COMMUNITY COLLEGE FIRST, AT THE END OF THE DAY ITS STILL IN-STATE TUITION FOR LAWBREAKING ILLEGAL ALIENS!
IT’S A MAGNET FOR A CONTINUED & UNWANTED FLOW OF LAWBREAKING ILLEGALS TO OUR STATE AND IT WILL FORCE MANY OF OUR CITIZEN CHILDREN TO ATTEND COLLEGES OUT OF STATE. THE COSTS TO THE TAXPAYERS ARE VERY MUCH UNDERSTATED AND UNAFFORDABLE AT A TIME OF GROWING STATE AND COUNTY BUDGET DEFICITS, HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT AND FRIGHTENING LEVELS OF HOME FORECLOSURES (ESPECIALLY PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY).
Botwin says its now or never and everyone should contact the House Ways and Means Committee (in addition to your own delegates if they are not on the committee):

FIRST LETS CONTACT ALL MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND TELL THEM TO REMOVE SB 167 FROM CONSIDERATION LEGISLATIVE THIS SESSION.
Committee members are listed below. I learned yesterday that at least one Republican was considering compromise language. So, be sure to contact all the committee members and voice your objection to the whole idea. We were able to defeat the Gay Marriage bill this year by overwhelming the House of Delegates with calls and e-mails, let’s do it again now!

The US 2010 census projection of our population stating it has grown from 282 million in 2000 to 309 million in 2010, a net increase of 27 million residents in a decade. The Pew Research Center study has calculated the total to the U.S. population of 438 million by 2050. That’s if there are no policy changes, an increase of 129 million over the 2010 population, which means more oil, energy and water sources.Not to mention the lose of farmland for homes. Wild Creature are also being disrupted from their century old environments. Any prudent person analyzing this data would recognize their are well over 11. million illegal aliens in this country; more like 20 million plus? Our country has been lied to by Leftist groups, who want all borders open as a free society. Neither major party wants secure enforcement, because it would inhibit their agendas. For Democrats that means potentially more votes; while with Republicans its foremost interest is to the business opportunists who profit from cheap labor.
We must organize with everybody who have the same opinions as the TEA PARTY on halting illegal immigration. Every American citizen or legal green card holder is welcome to fight this travesty of illegal occupation, no matter their race or religion.We just cannot afford to support the world anymore; how can we support the poor of other countries, when we don’t aid our own below the bread line? The only people who will gain advantage from out-of-control illegal immigrant occupation, is business of every type. Millions more customers bring enormous profits and wealth to the owners, who the majority don’t live in congested neighborhoods. Only the relentless Tea Party politicians can save America from overpopulation?
That fact is we could accomplishes huge savings if illegal aliens and instant citizenship offspring were cut-off from all welfare benefits and States such as the Sanctuary State of California, would not be crippled by a 26 billion dollar deficit, partially caused by education, health care and the overcrowded jail and prisons from the settlement of illegal foreigners. Our cities infrastructure are crumbling, including highways, bridges, tunnels, with the constant effect of overcrowding. Beneath the ground is a 50 year of danger of leaking sewerage pipes, electric wiring and water supplies.They are not the only State burdened by massive loses to their general funds, being siphoned off by illegal immigrant entitlements.
Consider a future if we don’t seal our borders, stop tourist visa over- stayers, enforce immigration laws by using ATTRITION as the main deterrent. Make our politicians enact E-Verify as a permanent law to reduce the illegal influx of foreigners. Mandate the use of Secure Communities for every police force throughout America, backed by the federal 287 (g) policies to fingerprint and identify every individual in (ICE) databases, so that all criminals can be handed over to the Immigration and Customs Service for deportation. Further our chances of ignorant businesses hiring cheap labor, when our own citizens-residents cannot get jobs, by joining the Tea PARTY. They will stop the Tax and Spend Liberals, reduce government, return jobs to bona fide Americans and halt the illegal immigration invasion, that is overwhelming every community and bringing even more poverty to America.
Attention: General Electric paid no taxes whatsoever last fiscal year. The Tax code needs to be reinvented, so everybody pays their fair share. In the last election the State Attorney Generals of New Mexico, New York, Texas and New Jersey stated illegal aliens voted in the prior election. My opinion is these people are compromising the vote in California and Nevada as well, because of the massive populations of foreign nationals. Illegal aliens will and do vote using forged Absentee Ballots and fake ID to sign in to register at polling stations.

i don’t understand republicans or tea party members, i sure i cannot discuss with ignorants and selfish individuals like yourselves. but what is the hate and distress you have against illegal immigrants??? These individuals or foreigners are humans beings for god sake!! humans beings who have the need and the natural right to survive and seek a better future for themselves and their children if they have one. Individuals who have feelings, have aspirations, have desires, have goals, plans and ideas that beautify and diversify communities. What is the hideous feeling of loathsome you hold within yourselves towards people coming from foreign cocountries??? i understand you are worried about overpopulation, about money, about resources, about jobs, about housing, opportunities, any problem you may think of that exist and persist you blame it to the immigration population in general but you target specifically the hispanic population to be precise. what about asians from every single country in asia, what about europeans from every country of europe, what about africans from every country in europe? there are immigrants from single crook and corner of the world and you still blame the hispanic population only? When you read this post please don’t take as an offense, it is not my point that i want to convey. The perspective i would like to you to understand and analyze is to not to target individuals or humans beings, does not matter where they come from, please act and spend your time and energy to find solutions and do not make people’s live miserable for selfish reasons. Think about not damaging and become an obstacle to new generations and families by prohibiting and not allowing ways for them to work, to study and advance with their lives. THAT IS NOT THE SOLUTION, you are feeding the anger, you are gaining a bad reputation because you are simply worsening the situation instead to be intelligent and seek a trajectory without frictions and where the outcome within communities of different ethnicities can live in constant harmony, you who believe in an ideology of tea party and republican ideals, a society should look for ways to coexist, not ways to separate each other more and more. The tea party and republicans are an obstacle in the road for many innocent people, i am not defending anyone, i am saying you should help for an immigration reform because that way people who are already here can become citizens and go on with their lives. These new citizens will help their families in another countries. But it does not stop there, people will be able to help families in other countries and will refrain others from immigrating. However, think further, think about supporting the federal government to increase political ties and allies in latin american for example to form new relationships and awareness to promote education reform to induce governments in latin america and any other country in the world to invest more in education and salaries for better teachers, technology, innovation and science , so think about your actions more clearly, spend your time and energy and efforts not to discourage other from living and being happy….
