I subscribe to a useful email called Megavote that reports on how my U.S. senators and representatives vote on bills. It also lists upcoming bills so you can contact your legislators if you want to tell them how you want them to vote. The email I just received informed me that Rep. John Delaney voted against the Keystone Pipeline. In addition, Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin voted in favor of holding a vote on the Child Care and Development Block Grant – (96-1, 3 Not Voting), which reauthorizes money spent and also institutes new educational, health and safety standards on child care providers that receive funds. (Surprise! More regulations!)
Upcoming votes are the vote on the aforementioned Child Care thing (S1086) and in the House, the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2013 – HR1422.
You can subscribe to the service at: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/megavote/ You don’t get inundated with emails — it’s sent once a week when Congress is in session and it’s very useful to see that our Maryland legislators who claim to be moderate, to oppose special interests, and to want less regulation are at best fooling themselves and at worse rank liars.
