A resolution to protect Maryland citizens

I’m reposting here a comment made to my last post,   The idea of getting states, counties, or local governments to officially stand against the federal government’s imposing illegal immigrants on them is a good one and should become a movement across America.

Lee Havis of Free State Patriots wrote:

The issue of unrestrained (invasion) of illegal aliens into Maryland is a serious issue of arbitrary federal power in violation of the US constitution, which is also the supreme law in Maryland. Any government agency or official who collaborates with or facilitates this type of tyranny is NOT protecting Maryland citizens, and acting in a traitorous way against our basic laws and fundamental constitutional freedoms and rights to secure borders, which is vital to any sovereign country. Richard Rothschild, in his recent Fox News interview brilliantly laid down the basic points required of any Maryland patriot to stand against this federal lawless tyranny, which I have sought to articulate the main points in a “resolution”. This document could be presented for consideration to any city, county government, or other entity of public interest, such as central committees, citizen and patriot groups of one sort or another. Here it is: Resolution to Protect Maryland Citizens from the Arbitrary Power of the Federal Government to Allow Unrestrained Entry of Illegal Aliens into the United States.

Whereas,
The United States has well-established national borders, within which citizens and other persons must comply with the authority of the US constitution and laws of the federal and state governments, and

The US congress has established limits and regulations to control the entry into the United States from outside these borders through such means as travel visas, passports, and immigration laws, and

The US constitution provides that under Article IV, section 4, the federal government shall “protect states against invasion”, and under Art. II, Section 3, that the executive of the federal government will “take care that the laws be faithfully executed” and,

The Maryland Declaration of Rights, Article 2, upholds the US constitution as supreme law in the state, and

The federal government, through arbitrary power of executive order, contrary to its own immigration laws, has established a policy and practice of unrestrained entry and release of certain classes of illegal aliens, such as so-called “unaccompanied minors”, and

In furtherance of this policy of unrestrained entry and release of illegal aliens, in 2014, the federal government has begun to disperse large numbers of these aliens in the various states, seeking local and state collaboration with this unlawful and unconstitutional activity, and

There is no rational basis or emergency to justify such extraordinary violation of immigration laws at the present time, since there are ample, practical, and less extreme means to protect aliens who claim refugee status at a location within or next to the borders of their own country of residence,

THEREFORE, Be it now hereby resolved, that:

The state of Maryland shall protect its citizens from the financial burden and danger of complying with the arbitrary power of the federal government that pursues the entry and release of illegal aliens in the state by refusing to provide funds, services, or any other form of collaboration to maintain or support the unlawful presence of such illegal aliens in the state.

The state of Maryland also urges the federal government to enforce its immigration laws against the unlawful entry of persons into this country, such as by returning illegal aliens found in this country to their country of origin, or next contiguous country in case of undue physical peril on claim of refugee status.

  1. Judy, thank you for the post. I’m happy to see that the Potomac Tea Party is still around and spreading awareness.

This “unaccompanied minors” situation certainly should be a major concern for every American at every level of government (city, county, parrish, state, etc.). This federal Administration’s unwillingness to enforce our laws and abide by the constitution of the United States, and through the use of executive order to actually subvert the constitution is alarming.

Catholicism is another unfortunate issue. I have some catholic friends who are very nice people. The Catholic church does not see it as helping illegal aliens breaking our laws, they see it as helping people in need, I suspect, which is, apparently, their doctrine. To them, God’s law supercedes American law. Never mind that the destruction of America could weigh in the balance.

    Tough issue.

  3. Judy thanks for the thoughtful commentary.
What Americans need to understand is that these children are a result of the lack of abortion opportunities to women in these other countries. What the Patriot Party needs to do is push the US Government to supply abortion clinics and clinic supplies to allow these women to have abortions. Increasing the number of abortions in these countries will stop the flow of children to the US.

    • You’re probably a troll but I posted your comment anyway. I think that’s a disgusting suggestion. We need to explain to these people that they need to fix their own countries. They need to understand that their prosperity won’t come from more handouts but from allowing people to start businesses without the cronyism, regulations, lack of property rights and other huge barriers that Latin American countries typically suffer under. They need to appreciate their own culture and realize that they will lose it if they move here. There are many things that can be done, and killing off their babies is not a solution that a decent person can support.

  4. I admire what Mr Havis is attempting to do; but you know as well as I that this resolution must be backed up with people power. We have got to have the intelligence (to alert us when the Feds intend to move illegals into the state) and the foot soldiers (to get out to demonstrate and block the buses, trains, airplanes from dumping the illegals in the State. That way the Federal Govt will get the message loud and clear, that we are not going to support the govt in breaking the law of the land and violating our constitutional rights.

  5. Last Friday morning, I awoke to read that Steve Scalise had been elected to replace Cantor as the House Majority Whip. The first thing he did was to push to pass that worthless immigration bill and when it was pulled by Boehner for lack of support he said the Sen. Jeff Sessions had “gummed up” the bill. I took to the internet and on numerous conservative websites on multiple articles on each, I inserted my comments. It is a challenge to every conservative in this nation!

A few years back, when immigration was boiling over, thousands mailed bricks to their Reps and Senators to “help build the fence.” Now, in light of Steve Scalise blaming Jeff Sessions for “gumming up” the current legislation, I am calling for every conservative to send an unopened pack of your favorite chewing gum to the local offices of both of your senators and your house rep with the note, “Here is more gum for Senator Sessions to use to keep gumming things up on the immigration bill until you get behind proper border security and a ban on Obama’s executive actions for amnesty.” There are 5 weeks for us while they are on recess to overwhelm their offices with gum and some will hold public meetings. I strongly encourage you to attend one if you can and take gum with this note to those meetings and drop them all over the podium from where they will speak to get the message across. You might even buy a large enough pack to pass out to others attending with the same note. LET’S BE HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR OVER SUMMER BREAK! NO MORE OPEN BORDERS, NO MORE AMNESTY, NO MORE DREAMERS AND NO MORE EXECUTIVE ACTIONS!

Please join me by passing the word and getting this campaign to go nationwide until Congress gets the message

    Cindy Nation
