Did Huma Abedin ever fill out security questionnaire for US State Dept. job?

That is the question—did she or didn’t she?  And, if she did, then Hillary Clinton should just release the form submitted by her closest State Dept assistant and confidante and put all this growing controversy to rest.

Readers, this is an update of the story we originally posted here where Rep. Michele Bachmann and four other brave Members of Congress asked several Inspectors general to investigate allegations that Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers had reached the highest levels of government at several federal agencies.

Here is Eileen Toplansky writing at American Thinker today (hat tip: Cathy):

It is still unclear whether Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s closest aide, has been properly vetted or not.  This issue rose to prominence after Michele Bachmann and four other congressional representatives expressed concerns about Huma’s family’s longstanding connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Barack Obama voiced strong support for Huma Abedin during the annual iftar dinner,*** but Walid Shoebat has asserted that President Obama needs to “refute the facts [that have been presented about Huma Abedin] and provide answers that are void of rhetoric.”

According to Cliff Kincaid, all this controversy could be resolved “by demanding access to Abedin’s Standard Form 86, which she was supposed to fill out before getting her State Department job.”  Did Huma Abedin disclose her family’s connections to the Muslim Brotherhood?  How did she fill out the 127-page lengthy questionnaire when she applied for this national security position?

Read it all, it is very informative about what Abedin (Mrs. Anthony Weiner) should be disclosing.  And, it is our job, our duty!, to demand answers, as Toplansky concludes with this line:

It is each American’s duty to demand the answers.

*** Here is a report and photo from Gateway Pundit about that White House Iftar dinner.  And, do you see the Imam in the photo?  He is the same one meeting with George Allen in Virginia here reported recently at Blue Ridge Forum.  Imam Mohamed Hagmagid is a busy boy—Friday evening with Obama and Abedin and then Sunday evening with US Senator- wannabe George Allen.

  1. Quick question: Did Cliff Kincaid file a freedom of information act request for Abedin’s Standard Form 86 questionnaire? And if not, why not? Seems to me that it should be public information. After all, all this controversy could be resolved “by demanding access…,” why did he NOT demand access?

I don’t know, and am not familiar with, Mr Kincaid, but I do know that I am sick and tired of “journalists” telling me what I should demand when they, apparently, don’t have the heart to do so themselves.

    • Greg, I am going to bet that someone already officially demanded it, if not Kincaid then surely the Center for Security Policy has. The feds are notorious for sitting on FOIA requests and come up with the flimsiest excuses why something can’t be released. They have a harder time if there is a public clamor for it. Of course the prime example these days is the Fast and Furious docs that the White House is refusing to release.

Here is an example of my personal experience with FOIA—years ago when I was fighting to keep my farm from being taken by the National Park Service, I did FOIA requests regularly. With, my first FOIA request I hit the jackpot and learned that a non-profit group—The Conservation Fund— was working in cahoots with NPS to buy up land around Antietam, including a farm that almost surrounded our farm on the one side, with the park on the other. Later FOIA requests were not so successful, in fact they denied one where I asked for all documents relating to plans to turn Southern Washington County into some sort of Civil War-themed tourist mecca—they said I could have that information if I paid them $50,000 for the search and for copying all the docs.

LOL! They are still working on that plan—-can you say Civil War Rail Trail!

  3. […] [By the way, I heard Herridge on Huckabee recently and she referred to an e-mail as the attack on Benghazi was unfolding that was sent to Hillary's "special assistant."  Herridge was adamant that the assistant's job was to put that e-mail in Hillary's face.  I wondered if that might have been Huma Abedin?] […]
