I should have posted this yesterday to give all conservative Catholics an opportunity to close your wallets before mass last evening and early this morning, but didn’t get to it. Maybe it’s not too late for some of you!
Ann Miller, writing at the Examiner tells us that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development has not changed its ways after the public became aware a few years ago that parishioners’ donations were going to groups (like ACORN!) which did not believe in Catholic doctrine and some that are outright socialist political organizations.
Here is Miller:
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops heads the Catholic Campaign For Human Development (CCHD), which describes itself on its website as “the domestic anti-poverty, social justice program of the U.S. Catholic bishops.”
If you have even a modicum of political savvy, you will recognize certain code words used commonly by the left, such as “social justice”. The dark underbelly of 20th and 21st century socialism utilizes socio-economic discontent to help undermine capitalism, but always done in an insincere, misleading, or downright dishonest manner which disguises the true intent. Also look for “common good”, “solidarity”, and “equality of distribution”.
The radical instigators of the socialist movement make no qualms about abusing American institutions such as churches, educational institutions, charitable entities, and the government to further their destructive and unpopular agenda.
Your opportunity to help the CCHD fund their socialist agenda is this Sunday, when they make their annual collection drive in Catholic churches. The second collection plate to be passed will be for the CCHD.
I received a postcard mailer today from an organization called ReformCCHDNow. The organizations’ website has the following description of themselves: “We are faithful Catholics who are concerned that the funds we provide to the National Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) in special annual Sunday collections have gone and continue to go to corrupt and partisan political groups, and even groups which sometimes work against the Church.”
There is more, read on here.
I highly recommend that Catholic readers (all readers!) visit the website for ReformCCHDNow for more information on where your money is going.
Even if you aren’t Catholic you are helping fund the agenda with your tax dollars!
Note that the CCHD is under the umbrella of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops which is getting millions of tax dollars through various federal grants (in addition to a much smaller amount from parishioners) each year and lobbies (from its Washington DC office) for such issues as Open Borders, Global warming and Obamacare.
Adding insult to injury, the USCCB also helps fund CASA de Maryland, here.
Readers, if you want to fight poverty with your own gifts this Thanksgiving, then find a local charity that you know is helping people with your money or donations of food and not directing your hard-earned dollars to political organizing!
