Student speaks up to defend Tea Partiers against racist charge

The grande dame of the Hard Left, Columbia University Professor Francis Fox Piven, got a shock at a Pennsylvania college recently.

Hot Air reports that Piven was lecturing students about (of all things) “propaganda” and inserted a line about Tea Partiers being racist.  One student had the audacity to shout out:

“As long as he follows the Constitution, we don’t care what color he is!” (cheers erupted from the students).

Read the story here and watch the clip—it is so heartening to see young people willing to push back against Leftists like Piven.

We have written about Piven on several occasions.  You may recall that she and her late hubby came up with the so-called Cloward-Piven strategy (in the 1970s) of creating chaos by manufacturing a crisis, overloading the welfare systems of major cities which in turn,  they theorized, would crash the economy and transform the government.  Author Jim Simpson warned us about it in 2008, here, in American Thinker.

Back in April we told you that “Pinko” (her word!) Piven was attempting to stir up your kids on college campuses through electronic teach-ins, here.  Whatever made her think she might succeed at MESSIAH COLLEGE!

My theory is that people like Piven (Bill Ayers, Wade Rathke and others) are getting old and with Obama in the White House they have come as close as they ever have to “changing” America, so they are desperate to see the revolution before they die.  Our job is to make sure they don’t! (See the revolution, that is).

  1. I’d like to tip my hat to Hot Air for the report. I think this sort of thing may be more prevalent than we are being made aware. Even though our youth are being terribly misguided in out education system schools, many are not being misguided, we just never hear about them in the media. For an example, the media will tell you that a hahvaaad education is the best available, BS (this particular BS does not stand for Bachelor of Science.)
You know my stance on a lot of 501 (3) (c) tax exempt orgs. I further believe that an expose on the colleges and universities who are the darlings of the news media need to be looked at also.

  2. I know a young lady who was ridden out of Messiah on a rail during the 2008 Presidential election. She had conservative support (not racist) stickers, etc. on her dorm room door. Other students complained and this lovely young lady was put through the ringer. It was an awful experience for her and she did not return to Messiah in January 2009. Fortunately, she moved on to another college and is having a wonderful experience and is a very involved, high achiever.

    • Wow, that is a surprise. I went there once decades ago and it was very straight-laced conservative—guess the religious Left has control of the place. But, still they have some outliers as we see in this story….
