On Friday evening, October 7th, Brad Botwin, representing Help Save Maryland awarded Washington County Delegate Neil Parrott the group’s leadership award. The presentation came at the end of a very well-attended meeting of the Hagerstown Tea Party which Parrott helped found in 2009.
Here is what Help Save Maryland reported in its press release over the weekend, quoting from the plaque:
HELP SAVE MARYLAND 2011 LEADERSHIP AWARD
“PRESENTED TO NEIL PARROTT FOR EXTRAORDINARY EFFORTS TO EDUCATE MARYLAND CITIZENS REGARDING THE PRESENCE OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON PUBLIC RESOURCES, SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE ENVIRONMENT”
The release goes on to say:
MADE UNANIMOUSLY BY THE HSM BOARD OF DIRECTORS, THE SELECTION RECOGNIZES NEIL PARROT FOR HIS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN ORGANIZING CITIZENS ACROSS THE STATE TO GATHER AND SUBMIT PETITION SIGNATURES. IN JUST TWO MONTHS TIME OVER 130,000 CITIZENS RESPONDED, EFFECTIVELY BLOCKING IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SO-CALLED “MARYLAND DREAM ACT” TO PROVIDE IN-STATE COLLEGE TUITION TO ILLEGAL ALIEN STUDENTS.
WITHOUT THE EFFORTS OF NEIL PARROTT, ALL CITIZENS WOULD BE FORCED TO SUBSIDIZE THE COLLEGE EDUCATION OF ILLEGAL ALIEN STUDENTS. A BAD INVESTMENT FOR TAXPAYER DOLLARS AS THESE STUDENTS CAN NOT LEGALLY WORK, VOTE, OR OBTAIN A DRIVERS’ LICENSE IN MARYLAND, EVEN WITH A COLLEGE DEGREE.
I didn’t have a chance to post it, but Brad Botwin represented Help Save Maryland in a recent debate on the in-state tuition issue in Suitland. Many were looking forward to Botwin facing off with Gustavo Torres of Casa de Maryland but Torres was a no-show. Perhaps too tired from his trip to Egypt with radical ACORN founder Wade Rathke the week before? Rathke and the Organizers Forum (Torres is on the board) went to Egypt to see how they might help “organize” that country. Guess things didn’t go so well since the Muslims attacked and killed many Christians soon after they left—so much for the Obama-supported democracy movement.
Reminder! Help Save Maryland will host Jim Simpson tonight in Rockville!
Author Simpson will discuss his in depth report published last month by Accuracy in Media: Casa de Maryland: the Illegals’ ACORN.
