Where is the logic?

Many of you have just spent two months collecting signatures on a petition to keep illegal aliens from getting in-state tuition—and were hammered daily in the media and elsewhere that the “kids” were brought here as 2 year olds and are for all intents and purposes Americans (entitled to taxpayer support)…..

But… when one of the “kids” (who came to America at two years of age) grows up rapes and murders someone and is sentenced to death, all of a sudden he is a citizen of Mexico and by executing him we have abridged his rights as a Mexican citizen!

Which is it?

Obama tries to halt a Texas execution today!  From the Guardian:

The White House has asked the US supreme court to put the execution of Humberto Leal Garcia on hold while Congress passes a law that would prevent the convicted rapist and murderer from being put to death along with dozens of other foreign nationals who were denied proper access to diplomatic representation before trials for capital crimes.

[….]

Leal, 38, was convicted in 1994 of the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in San Antonio. Few question that he was responsible for the killing but the Texas authorities failed to tell Leal, who was born in Mexico and has lived in the US since the age of two, that under the Vienna convention he was entitled to contact the Mexican consulate when he was arrested.

Breach of international obligations, my foot!

  1. And this surprises you? Obama is not very “America-friendly” in case you havn’t noticed. I sure hope that we can make this guy a one term president. Four more years and we’ll have no country left to fight for.

  2. Thanks for compiling a history of religious implications with illegal migrants. Folks need to know where their adversaries are coming from. Especially as the campaigns to win the hearts and minds grow approaching the 2012 election. Principals and supporters of the petition against sb167 should not be over confident or underestimate the leftist church organizations political savvy. They should be exposed for what they are at every turn. Television ads prior to election time are likely to determine if this law is vetoed. One step ahead of Casa De Maryland and it’s ilk is where we need to be and stay.
Yep it ain’t easy correcting articles. Twice a week for 4 weeks I have sent an email to AP of Maryland trying to correct them from using the incorrect term of “paid taxes” in lieu of the correct term “filed taxes” to no avail. Anyone that believes those low income illegals that filed taxes actually paid taxes then I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell them.
