It’s Sunday morning, is your church supporting CASA de Maryland?

Yesterday, angry, presumably illegal immigrants and other friends of CASA, sought to disrupt those collecting signatures to get a referendum on the ballot in 2012 to ask the voters of Maryland whether they want their tax dollars going to support the college educations of illegal aliens.  I’m gathering stories now, including one where a signature collector was spat on by a protester, which I hope to post in the coming days.

In the meantime, there has been much back and forth discussion this week about the Maryland Catholic Conference, the lobbying arm of the Church in Maryland, admonishing priests to tell parishioners to not sign the petition [Check out one Catholic who wrote against the MCC, here].  LOL! Don’t you wonder where the ACLU is on this separation of church and state issue?

Here is a post I wrote in 2010 about the US Conference of Catholic Bishops helping fund a pro-amnesty march in Washington DC for your review.  So, this pro-illegal immigrant stance by the Catholic leadership is well-documented.   But, it is not just Catholic Churches and leaders who are deeply entwined with hard Left political advocacy groups—yours could be too!

I’m reading a fascinating book about the Religious LEFT (and the Sanctuary Movement that brought many of Maryland’s Central American* illegal aliens to your cities and towns) and plan to tell you more about it in the future.

There was much made of the power of the Religious Right through the Reagan years, but personally I find the Religious LEFT having a much greater influence on the political process because they are using your tax dollars for their political goals.  The Religious Right didn’t dig into the US (or Maryland) Treasury.

Back to CASA and its “religious” supporters who are apparently willing to use thuggish and angry tactics to further their political goals.    Here is a list of funders of CASA de Maryland and it should be a road map for you of what groups, supposed religious groups, businesses and individuals are working within the hard Left to further a socialist/Marxist political agenda for Maryland and the nation.   [Be sure to look at the whole list, it is fascinating to see the businesses and other groups supporting CASA, but our focus today is on the Religious Left.]

Besides the very radical CASA funder, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (see one of many articles on their funding of ACORN, here),  check out the churches and synagogues, some of which get taxpayer funding and support and are, in turn, giving your money to CASA!

*Remember that until 2008, CASA of CASA de Maryland stood for Central American Solidarity Association.

** You will be hearing much more on these pages about the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church in the near future.  Also, note the “Friends” on the list, most people are shocked to learn how deeply Quakers are involved in helping illegal immigrants get into and stay in the US.
