Update April 19th: More on how brave these 59 are in the face of the “leadership,” here. Conservative Tea Partiers must take control of the GOP or we are done for!
The vote last week in the House of Representatives on the Boehner 2011 budget deal very clearly helps us separate Tea Party-minded friends from establishment Republicans in the critical and on-going battle for the economic well-being of our nation. The 59 Republicans who voted against the deal (and against the ruling class) are the stalwart conservatives and we need to thank them for bucking the leadership. See Blue Ridge Forum for the whole story (and especially see April 15th update).
Please note that Maryland’s two Republicans—Reps. Roscoe Bartlett and Andy Harris* are stalwarts standing up for conservative principles and are thus willing to forgo perks handed out by the leadership to those who tow the Party line.
Meet some of the Tea Party 59!
Note that some of our other rising stars are on the list including Steve King of Iowa and Allen West of Florida. You can meet Steve King in Hagerstown on May 10th and Allen West in Westminster on May 2nd.
Not household names yet, but in Frederick also on May 10th you can meet two more of the Tea Party 59—Renee Ellmers and Vicky Hartzler—here.
* You may have better ways to reach Congressmen Bartlett and Harris, but on a quick search that is the best I could do for contact info.
