Update: For all the MANY readers arriving at this OLD post looking for Maryland primary election information, or for the 2012 general election, your best source is here at the Maryland State Board of Elections!
Maryland’s Presidential primary was originally scheduled for February 2012, but when Gov. O’Malley signs this bill (he might have already signed it) it will move to April 2012.
From the Washington Post:
A bill that would shift the dates of Maryland’s presidential and gubernatorial primaries is headed to Gov. Martin O’Malley (D).
Under the bill, which passed the Senate unanimously Tuesday, voters would cast ballots in the 2012 presidential primary election in April and the 2014 gubernatorial primary would move from September to June.
For those of you thinking of running for Governor or the General Assembly in 2014, you will need to get started earlier. But, one good thing, only the primary winners will have that long hot summer to campaign.
Oops! Come to think of it, it also means that a primary candidate for Governor who wants to hit all the summer fairs will need to be hitting those in the summer of 2013!
