On Monday the Maryland House of Delegates will hold hearings on a House Resolution that would do the following to emphasize the need to curb Maryland sanctuary state policies and image:
[HJ-10] would resolve that the state should enforce immigration laws, end sanctuary policies, and require public and private employers to comply with federal and state immigration laws.
The sponsors of the resolution are looking for activists to testify in favor of the resolution.
The hearing will be on Monday, March 21 at 2 pm in the House Rules and Executive Nominations Committee. The lead sponsor of the resolution proposal is Del. Neil Parrott (R- Washington County). Go here for more information and a list of co-sponsors.
NumbersUSA is a powerful national immigration control group with an extensive grassroots network. The group said the following in its call to action for Marylanders:
There are two ways you can help. The most significant thing you can do is attend the hearing in person and testify in favor of the resolution. But if you cannot attend, you can submit written testimony in advance of the hearing, which will be added to the record.
Contact the office of Del. Parrott and see what you can do to help. neil.parrott@house.state.md.us
