The impetus for this investigation was Poffenberger’s deceptive campaign literature that linked Neil Parrott and Republican policies generally with jobs leaving the country and especially with the closure of the Tannery in Williamsport. The later is an outrageous claim when one considers the plant was plagued by environmental activists and excessive Union demands—both linked to the Democratic Party.
