US Senate candidate John Raese drew a large crowd in Berkeley County this week and sounded optimistic that we could turn the country around. No one thought Raese had a chance against popular Governor Joe Manchin, but its looking more like Tea Partiers might send this man to Washington in January.
From the Huntington News:
Challenging Governor Joe Manchin on issues ranging from Obamacare to the need to cut government and lower taxes, Republican U.S. Senate candidate John Raese got several standing ovations for his remarks at an election forum sponsored by the Blue Ridge Patriots Tea Party organization.
Over 150 people were in attendance in the Musselman High School gymnasium Tuesday evening.
Governor Joe Manchin was invited to participate but was unable to attend.
Raese’s freewheeling approach to answering questions from the audience proved to be a real crowd pleaser throughout the evening. While Raese sprinkled humor into his answers, he grew serious when talking about the recession and its affect on West Virginia and the nation as a whole.
“Everyone here is a patriot who cares about our country’s future,” said Raese. “Well, we are in the eleventh hour, some would say we’re already past the eleventh hour. But these are manmade problems, so the good news is that they can be reversed.”
